Why do some people freeze crackers and dry cereals?
I know people freeze already refrigerated items so they will keep for later, but do unopened crackers and cereals go bad after a certain amount of time in the cupboard? I've heard of many people freezing them to store them when they have extra.

It’s common to freeze dry food items to maintain freshness. Bread, cereal, crackers, coffee….. for that matter, even cigarettes. I don’t personally but know many who do, especially in hot, humid areas of the country.

So they don’t get stale, and maybe so bugs won’t get at them.
