Question by Jason: What are some good fortified cereals for vegans?
The day I decided to be vegan, I realized that my Multi-Grain Cheerios are almost perfect for vegans. It provides 100% of like 10 or 12 vitamins & minerals. Including B12, Iron, and Zinc. Almost like it was made for vegans. Anyways, in case I ever get tired of this I'd like to know if there are any other cereals that have at least a decent amount (since other Cheerios has at least 30 or so % of each) of all these vitamins and minerals.

Best answer:

Answer by Madonna! Madonna!
Total is the first thing that comes to mind. For a treat try Apple Jacks. They are fortified also and sweet.

Question by Rein: What are some different breakfast's that people have enjoyed?
My wife said that my breakfast was odd. I had steamed asparagus (product of Mexico), fresh French bread toasted, and a cup of tea. She said most people have normal things like bacon and eggs, toast, homefries, and coffee, etc. I have heard of people who have had a vanilla milkshake and leftover cold pizza for breakfast. Has anyone else out there have had a supposedly odd breakfast and what was it?

Best answer:

Answer by HumphreyCat
I'm an oatmeal, walnuts, and blueberry breakfast gal, but when I travel in Europe, I usually have yogurt, breads and cheese. Beans and rice are populr for breakfast in Central America- it all depends on what you're used to. Your breakfast sounds like a yummy lunch to me!

Question by Amanda B: What are some healthy breakfast ideas/toppings for frozen waffles?
I have a box of low fat, whole wheat frozen waffles in my freezer. I want to incorporate them into my breakfasts, but I need some ideas. I like breakfast to be around 300-350 calories and two of these waffles are 140 calories. I tend to stray away from syrup because it contains too much simple sugar and too many calories. I need some protein in my breakfast too, but I don't eat meat or eggs.

Best answer:

Answer by Sarah*
You can try low calorie protein bars as a side. Luna Bars have around 180 calories. I personally love them.

Question by starlight_940: What are some breakfast ideas when you have gestational diabetes?
I'm 33 weeks pregnant and was recently diagnosed with a touch of gestational diabetes. I am no longer allowed to have more than 15g of carbs for breakfast before 10:00 am. So I have been reduced to some fruit and a glass of milk or yogurt for breakfast. Prior, I was a milk and cereal, muffins, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, and toast eater for breakfast. Now I am starving again after I've been at work for an hour with this reduced carb breakfast. It's hard to have the energy I need to keep up at work when I haven't had a filling breakfast. I start at 8:00 and I don't get my lunchbreak until 1:00 usually. I can bring a snack to tie me over until lunch, but I still can't even eat that until after 10. So do you have any good ideas of foods that will fill me up better but still be within the 15g of carbs guideline?

Best answer:

Answer by Elaura
Eggs and bacon don't have any carbs so you can still do those. I ate a lot of string cheese which also has very low carbs and is very portable. Also, if you like sausage, you can get frozen, cooked sausage and microwave it.

I found that I could eat multi-grain Cheerios and they didn't spike my blood sugar over the acceptable limit. Are you testing 2 hours after breakfast? Because it isn't the number of carbs you eat that is important, it's how high your blood sugar gets afterward.

Sweeten with artificial sweeteners, of course . . . . . .
